Brianne and John are getting married on Cape Cod next spring and we recently spent some time wandering Newport for their engagement session. It was the third time we rescheduled due to rain – I’m glad we finally got to do the session. They were a lot of fun – and i’m really looking forward to their wedding next year. I love the Cape in the spring! Thanks Brianne and John!

Thanks guys for running all the way up there for the above picture! I think it came out great!
How cool is the light coming through the tunnel in the above image?
(I love the above image – It’s not a typical engagement picture – but more of a fun one)
Stephanie and Nick took the drive from North Central Massachusetts into Providence the other day for an engagement session. I know Stephanie from way back, from our days at Fitchburg State College. She and Nick are getting married next year.
We explored the city, as I normally do with engagement sessions, with no real agenda, only a starting and finishing point. It makes for new imagery even in places I photograph often. I planned the afternoon in such a way so we’d finish near Trinity Brewhouse. Nick is a beer buff, as am I, and what better place to unwind after finishing an e-session than over a pint (or two) at a fantastic local brewpub. I had to show the out of town guests some RI hospitality!
Thanks Stephanie and Nick for making the trip down to Providence for your engagement session. I hope you had as much fun as I did!
Tasha and Cris were married on a late summer Sunday a few weeks back at South Ferry Church in Narragansett. Tasha and Cris have been friends of my wife and I for a long time – and I consider them two of my closest friends. So when they asked if I would document their big day for them, I was honored. Here’s just a few of my favorites – there were plenty more, and more can be found on my facebook business page. “Like” the page while you’re there!
(the above was taken by my fantastic second shooter, Robyn)
Cris took the time to put his thoughts about Tasha down on paper. The above is the reaction he got for his words.
We made our way to a fantastic field for photographs in the north end of Narragansett on our way to Quidnessett Country Club for the reception just as the light was fading.
Cris is practicing his air-guitar rock-jump for the camera.
Cris wrote a song for Tasha, which he preformed for her in front of all their guests.
A wonderful cake from The Cupcakerie!
What a fun wedding! Thanks so much, Tasha and Cris for having me! Remember to check out my facebook business page (please ‘like’) for plenty more images that wouldn’t fit here on the blog!
Elizabeth & Greg were married a few weeks ago on her grandparents waterfront home in seaside, Noank, CT. They couldn’t have had a better day! Everything was decorated so nicely, from the arbor that they were married under to the table linens to the ties that each of the groomsmen wore. The day was perfect, with a wonderful ceremony followed by lunch (featuring a mashed potato bar) and dancing overlooking the sailboat filled bay. It was a great day – thanks to Elizabeth and Greg (and their super-photogenic son) for inviting me to share in their day with me.
We had a beautiful sunset last week over on Jamestown where I photographed this senior from just over the bridge. We started at Mackerel Cove in Jamestown, then took the short ride down to Beavertail Lighthouse as the sun was setting. We took a ton of great images for her to choose from – these are just a couple of my favorites!
Here’s a few of my favorite images from last week’s engagement session with Jenna & Brian. They’re getting married next year, and will be having their reception at the Aldrich Mansion in Warwick. I couldn’t be more excited! We started out at Newport Vineyard which is a fantastic little vineyard on Aquidneck Island. It had an abundance of ripening vines to photograph in and around. We took the short drive down the beach after we finished up at the vineyard for some more shots approaching what would have been sunset. The clouds were dark and stormy looking the entire session though, but the sprinkles held off until we pulled out of the parking lot when the session was finished. I had such a good time with Jenna and Brian, and I can’t wait to photograph their big day next year!
[Yes, there's two ring shots. I liked them both very much.]
The above was taken just moments after the ‘first look’.
Waiting for her big entrance upstairs.
The beautiful Portland waterfront.
My old college friend, Ferah and her fiance (now husband) Nate were married on arguably the nicest day this summer. They were married in Portland, Maine on the deck of a boat out in Portland Harbor. The boat steamed out to a nearby lighthouse where it dropped anchor, and the ceremony was held.
The day started on the Portland waterfront with a quick “first look”, where Nate saw Ferah for the first time in her wedding dress. It was a wonderful moment, with their friends and family hooting and hollering as Ferah stepped out of the limo, and before Nate could see her.
We then boarded the Casablana, where the ceremony was preformed with minimal stumbling from the movement of the boat. Cocktail hour followed, out on the water, then we headed back to the dock for their introduction into the reception.
Ferah and Nate are one of the most in-love couples I have ever met, and I think it shows in the images of them. Thanks to Ferah and Nate for allowing me to be part of your day, it was truly wonderful!
These images are just a few of my favorite from their day!
What a beautiful day for a wedding! It was the perfect temperature, and their were plenty of white, puffy clouds in the sky. Elizabeth and Mike were married at Christ The King Church near URI on Saturday. We snapped a few images on the grounds of the church before leaving for the rocks overlooking Narragansett Bay where were took a few more images featuring Mike’s office in the background. (he’s a fisherman) The reception was held at their home, which was the perfect spot for all they had planned. A bluegrass band played on the porch of the small cottage in the backyard, and the clambake was cooking in a very large hole dug into the ground, which I imagine is how they did it years and years ago on the beaches down the road. It was a fantastic wedding full of tradition and joy! Thanks Elizabeth and Mike for sharing your day with me!
Last week I spent some time just before sunset photographing this fun high school senior around Bonnet Shores Beach Club in Narragansett, RI. It was the perfect summer night for a senior session, and we took advantage of the rich, warm light coming down.
We always get some cool shots – a mix of traditional for the yearbook and grandma’s mantle, and non-traditional for some fun ones that really show off the seniors’ individuality.
Senior Sessions can be done anytime during the year – right now for Class of ‘11, and anytime between now and the summer for Class of ‘12. Schedule one today – they’re a ton of fun!
