Traci & Devin: Engaged

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

I met Traci & Devin last week at Goddard Park in East Greenwich to photograph their engagement session. I had not met either of them before, so I didn’t know who I was to meet. We got up to speed fast, and the session turned out great! Devin is in the Navy, which brought him and Traci to the Northeast. They’re getting married in a few weeks down in Connecticut. I had a great time – thanks for spending the time with me last week!

Finally, a cool shot of Traci and Devin seen as a reflection in the side of Devin’s black corvette.

Keighley & Peter: Engaged

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

I met Keighley and Peter at Beavertail Lighthouse a few weeks ago to photograph their engagement session. They were referred to me by my brother who sat next to Keighley on a flight back to Rhode Island several months ago. They struck up a conversation, my brother found out that she was planning a wedding and was in need of a photographer. He suggested that he might know of a good wedding photographer, and the rest is history.

I had a lot of fun checking out some of the rarely explored spots of Beavertail – did you know that there was a bit of an old fort still on the grounds? Thanks Peter and Keighley for hanging out for a bit!

April & Mike: Married

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

April and Mike were married last weekend in Woodstock, Connecticut and held their reception at Connecticut National Golf Course. Mike is a good friend of mine and a wedding photographer himself; I was honored that he asked me to photograph his big day.

April and Mike opted for a first look before the ceremony. Though it’s not for everyone, the first look does take some of the pressure off of the time between the ceremony and the reception, allowing the couple to relax and mingle with their guests instead of spending the time taking photographs.

Thanks to April and Mike for having a fun wedding! I had a great time!

Sarah & Jim: Married

Below: Last minute vows transcription from iPhone to paper version

A quick prayer before the ceremony begins.

Bolt Coffee Company was pouring fantastic espresso for the guests all evening!

Sarah and Jim were married at a tiny church in Preston, Connecticut last week on a what was a gorgeous spring day. I started my day at Preston City Bible Church, a quaint little church that has been around for what looks like a long time. Jim finished transcribing his vows from his iPhone to good old fashioned paper in preparation for the ceremony. The guys then headed outside for a quick couple of pictures and a final prayer before the ceremony. After the ceremony, we headed to Mohegan Park for family formals and a few with just Sarah and Jim. It’s a beautiful park complete with all the spring flowering trees you could ask for. Then it was over to The Wauregan Ballroom in Norwich for their reception. Bolt Coffee Company was there keeping everyone lively with their espresso and lattes all evening. It was evident that a great time was had by all that attended – myself included! Thanks for having me, Sarah and Jim!

Of course, it’s always nice to end the post on a fun image:
