Kerry & Matt: Married, Towers Narragansett, RI

Monday, September 24th, 2012

Kerry and Matt were married a few weeks ago at Christ The King Church in Kingston, and they held their reception at the Towers in Narragansett. I started my day with Kerry and her family and bridesmaids, as my second shooter, Angie, hung around with Matt and the guys. After the ceremony, the entire bridal party and myself stopped at the Narragansett Rotary for a quick couple of pictures in front of the large “welcome-to-Narragansett” sign. We then made our way to the Towers for pictures with family, the bridal party, and finally just Kerry & Matt. The light was quickly fading as we went upstairs into the Towers for introductions, speeches, dinner, and dancing. The band, Those Guys, rocked as usual. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a great band for your wedding!

Thanks Kerry & Matt for a great day! I always love being back at the Towers. It’s such a great spot!

Brooke & Marc: Married

Friday, September 21st, 2012

Brooke and Marc were married recently at Independence Harbor in Assonet, MA. I started my day in Acushnet at Brooke’s parent’s home and spent some time photographing Brooke, her bridesmaids and her three daughters before heading towards Independence Harbor. Immediately following the ceremony, we took some pictures against the picturesque background that the Independence Harbor is known for, and used the vintage car Brooke and her father rode in on for some more great images. Then we moved inside for dinner and dancing.

Thanks Brooke & Marc for having me – it was a great evening!

Corinne & Chris: Married, Eisenhower House, Newport

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

Corinne & Chris were married a few weeks ago in Newport at St. Joseph’s Church and held their reception at the beautiful Eisenhower House, also in Newport. I started my day with Corinne at Hotel Viking before heading over to the church for the ceremony. After the ceremony, I hopped on the trolley and we made stops at some great spots for pictures along the route to the Eisenhower House. Once we arrived, the families gathered for pictures, and cocktail hour began. A Del’s cart was on hand for the refreshment of the guests. We all moved into the tent for introductions and toasts; then dinner was served. After dinner, the dance floor came alive and stayed that way all night.

Thanks Corinne and Chris – I had a blast!

And finally: Del’s brain freeze during cocktail hour. Poor kid won’t make the mistake of drinking a mouthful of Del’s quickly like that again.

Elizabeth & Kyle: Day After Session

Thursday, September 13th, 2012

I met Elizabeth years ago when I was first started to photograph more people. Then earlier this year, as she began planning her wedding, I received an email from her expressing interest in me photographing her wedding. Unfortunately, I was already booked on their wedding day. Instead, they decided to have me photograph a Day-After session, where Elizabeth would put her dress back on, and we’d walk around some areas at a more relaxed pace than we could on a wedding day.

I met up with Elizabeth and Kyle in downtown Providence and we around the city a bit. My friend, Dave Field, was in tow wrangling a light for me. We found some great spots, shot some fun pictures, and Elizabeth and Kyle enjoyed turning heads of many people in the city, some of whom didn’t quite believe that they were freshly married.

We headed up north for some more pictures outside city limits, where there’s a little more green around, to finish out our time together. I had a ton of fun shooting this, it was very different than the usual somewhat rushed portraits during a traditional wedding day. It allowed us to visit some interesting locations, and take a little more time making just the right picture. It was a blast!

Thanks guys, I hope you enjoy these images – I’m very proud of them!

Katelyn & Kevin: Married, Renaissance Hotel Providence

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

Katelyn and Kevin were married last weekend at St. Pius Church in Providence and held their reception at the Renaissance Hotel in Providence. I was privileged to have two second shooters with me for this wedding, Gabrielle & Matt of Gabrielle Marks Photography. Matt and I started our day hanging out with the ladies as they prepared to head towards the church. Gabrielle spent her time photographing the men in their hotel room at the Renaissance. After the ceremony, we walked through Waterplace Park in downtown Providence before ending up on the State House grounds just as the weather began to turn. Dark clouds rolled in just as we finished up with portraits. Inside, “Those Guys” rocked the stage as they kept guests dancing all night. It was a fantastic day, thanks Katelyn and Kevin for having me! And thanks also to Matt and Gabrielle for coming along for the ride. It was a blast!

Below: I have no idea what was happening here. No idea.
